RosMedics is now a HIW Registered Independent Hospital offering bespoke blood testing, health consultations and iron infusions.

Private Health Optimisation

You've seen your GP. You've had your bloods done. You were told everything's "normal" — and yet you still feel exhausted, foggy, run down, or just not yourself. If that's you, you're not imagining it, and you're not alone. Standard NHS care is built to find and treat illness, and it does that well — but it doesn't always have the time to explore why you feel below your best when no single result stands out.

That's the gap we're here to help with. Think of it as a private GP alternative that works alongside your NHS GP — never instead of urgent or essential care — giving you faster access, more time to talk, and a personalised plan based on your symptoms, your history and what "well" looks like for you.

Dr Ros is a GMC-registered doctor with a special interest in hormones, longevity and health optimisation.

When "normal" doesn't feel normal

A blood result can sit inside the standard range and you can still feel a long way from yourself. NHS ranges are designed to flag disease, and that's exactly what they should do — but feeling well is about more than the absence of illness. A longer, doctor-led consultation gives space to look at the whole picture: your symptoms, your lifestyle, your history and how all of it fits together. People come to us when they're living with things like:
  • Ongoing exhaustion and low energy that doesn't lift with rest
  • Brain fog, poor concentration or feeling mentally "slow"
  • Weight gain, or finding it harder than it should be to lose weight
  • Poor sleep, or waking up unrefreshed
  • Low mood, anxiety or feeling more irritable than usual
  • Perimenopause, menopause or other hormone-related changes you'd like to understand
If any of this sounds familiar, it's worth a proper conversation — and the first step is simply being properly listened to.

Our private medical services

There's no one-size-fits-all here. Whether you need quick access when you're unwell, a deeper look at your health, or ongoing support over the year, there's an option to match. Here's what's included at each level:
TIER 1

Rapid Access Consultation

£120
For when you're unwell and can't get a timely GP appointment. Quick access to a GMC-registered doctor, with time to be properly heard. Where a prescription is clinically appropriate, the doctor may issue one (the cost of any medication is separate).
TIER 2

Health Optimisation CONsultation

£250
A deeper, unhurried appointment focused on the things that affect how you feel day to day — energy, hormones, weight, sleep and mood. You'll leave with a personalised plan discussed with your doctor. A 6-month follow-up is available at £100.
TIER 3

Annual Health OPtimisation Programme

£850*
A year-long, prevention-focused approach: a comprehensive blood panel, a full assessment and follow-up appointments to track how you're doing over time. Best suited to people who want to stay ahead of their health rather than wait for something to go wrong. *Programme terms apply.
TIER 4

Membership Plan

£20/month
Continuity and value for ongoing care, spreading the cost across the year and including two consultations per year. Ideal if you'd like a doctor who knows your history and is there when you need them.
A note on prescriptions: there's no separate issue fee to write a private prescription where it's clinically appropriate — but the cost of any medication itself is charged separately by the pharmacy.

CONCERNS - Is this for you?

This service is designed for people who want a different pace and depth of care alongside their NHS GP. It tends to suit you if you:
  • Struggle to get a timely GP appointment when you need one
  • Want a longer appointment and the time to actually talk things through
  • Feel your symptoms haven't been fully explored or explained
  • Would rather take a proactive, preventative approach to your health
  • Want a doctor who looks at the whole picture, not one result at a time
A word on the right place for care: if your symptoms are severe, worsening, or you feel acutely unwell, please contact your NHS GP, NHS 111 or 999 — this service sits alongside the NHS, not in place of urgent or essential care.

If your exhaustion may be linked to low iron or iron-deficiency anaemia, our sister iron-infusion clinic can help — learn more at ironoxclinic.com.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE — A DIFFERENT STANDARD OF CARE

This isn't about replacing your GP — it's about adding something the system often doesn't have room for: time. Time to tell your whole story, to be asked the next question, and to have someone connect the dots between your symptoms.

You'll get faster access, a longer appointment, and a personalised plan shaped around you rather than a template. For a lot of people, it's the first time they've felt genuinely listened to about how they've been feeling — and that, on its own, is a different kind of care.

Everyone's different, so the plan you leave with is discussed at your consultation, not promised in advance; what we can promise is the time and attention to do it properly.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Our consultations start from £120 for a Rapid Access Consultation. A deeper Health Optimisation Consultation (up to 60 minutes) is £250, an Annual Health Optimisation Programme is £850 (programme terms apply), and Membership is £20/month including two consultations a year. There's no fee to issue a private prescription where it's clinically appropriate; the cost of any medication is separate.

Yes — you can book directly, with no GP referral needed. Our service works alongside your NHS GP rather than replacing it, so we'd always encourage you to stay registered with your NHS practice for urgent and essential care.

Health optimisation is a longer, doctor-led look at how you actually feel — your energy, sleep, hormones, mood and weight — rather than just whether you have a diagnosable illness. It's worth considering if you've been told your results are "normal" but still don't feel like yourself, and you'd value the time to explore why. Everyone's different, so a personalised plan is discussed at your consultation.

Persistent exhaustion can have many causes — hormonal changes, sleep quality, stress, lifestyle, nutrition and more — and it often takes a longer appointment to unpick. A Health Optimisation Consultation gives the time to take a full history and arrange any blood tests to your symptoms, reviewed by a doctor. (If low iron may be involved, our sister clinic ironoxclinic.com focuses specifically on iron deficiency and iron infusions.)

Yes — perimenopause and menopause symptoms can be assessed and investigated in a longer consultation, and where appropriate a personalised plan can be discussed with you. Dr Ros is a GMC-registered doctor with a special interest in hormones. We don't advertise specific medicines; any prescribing decision is made only after a consultation.

Access is usually a matter of days, not months — including a Rapid Access option for when you're unwell and can't get a timely GP slot. Appointments are available in clinic or by video.

No. This is a private medical service that works alongside your NHS GP, not instead of it. If your symptoms are severe, worsening, or you feel acutely unwell, please contact your GP, NHS 111 or 999.
